The duality of her origins, the mixture of cultures that formed the basis of her upbringing and the dichotomy from her political office on the eve of the creation of the southern Netherlands; Margaret of Parma embodies, as it were, the field of tension between old and new worlds, between disappearing and emerging art movements but also court rituals. Making this unique position tangible is our starting point.

Throughout the course, analogue interventions are equally interspersed with multimedia interventions. Central masterpieces are often the penetrating, beautifully hand-colored small etchings or paintings from which the atmosphere in the exhibition is built. As inspiration we use the palazzos where Margaret resided: several wings with smaller rooms are built around an inner courtyard with arched galleries.

We frame the objects in the space, creating an environment that supports them. We do this by working with a de-duplicated structure that we place in the space.

The structure in front forms arches, identical to the curvature of those of the cross-rib vaults in the hall itself.

The scenography wants to be spatial but also intimate, a scenography that invites visitors to an intense experience of the work.
