The building is located between the raised dyke and a mixed forest. The former brick house with a tiled roof, wooden window frames and a large walled courtyard was in a state of disrepair. The renovation had two objectives: to strengthen the relationship between the house and the surrounding nature and to remedy the structural shortcomings in order to improve energy efficiency and ecological interaction with the environment.
