You enter the row house with the common parts on the ground floor through an entrance hall that opens onto the kitchen. The front and rear spaces are separated by the stairwell that is located in the center of the house and provides a feeling of space due to the zenithal light. The second floor is divided into two bedrooms and a bathroom. The house has a pleasant garden at the back that connects with the neighbors, as well as a terrace on the second floor where the facade recedes from the building line of the ground floor and the adjacent neighbors.
We were asked to formulate a proposal for an addition/third floor. In our proposal, which was approved in volume adv a Visual Quality Plan by the Urban Planning Department, the facade recedes 120 cm from the existing facade. The entire floor is divided by a wooden structure that connects the rear bedroom to the reading – guest corner at the front of the house. In the room on the street side, zenital light is used that extends into the bathroom, bringing in maximum natural light for the whole house. The front room can serve as an alcove, office and reading nook with a maximum view of a green buffer and the public square.
