On the corner of a massive building block located in the heart of Antwerp 2060 next to the former Stuivenberg Hospital, we were asked to formulate a design for an extension to an existing doctor’s office.
The corner building has a lot of potential it is well located, has lots of light, high ceilings, can be easily linked to the existing practice spaces and has a large usable basement floor.
We developed a proposal after consultation with the clients that carefully incorporates the existing design steps where possible but makes an additional new design proposal in some specific new areas. We try to use light as much as possible in all spaces, organize the waiting area as pleasant and practical as possible so that patients feel at home. Furthermore, by means of design choices, colour and materiality, we distinguish the more public places from the cabinets and the private spaces.
